Who's Shahida?
Shahida has been in the kitchen when she was just 9- putting together rotis (Indian flatbreads) for the family, looking up recipes from cookbooks and giving them her own twist.
The Internet gave her access to a whole new world, and it fascinated her to say the least.
Being a learner at heart, she kept exploring and pushing her boundaries, educating herself about different cuisines from around the world, and how they were different and sometimes similar to the classic, authentic Indian cooking she was so familiar with.
Who's Enozia?
Enozia followed suit and thanks to Shahida's genes, always loved whipping up creative, savory foods that she would enjoy in restaurants.
She grew up watching Masterchef Australia and was in awe of how there were so many different ingredients and flavors she hadn't explored before!
Supermarket trips quickly became a place where she would check out different produce and unique ingredients, and weekends became more about trying out simple pasta and cookie recipes.
Eventually, she started to get aware about different flavor-pairings and cooking techniques, and even started experimenting with them.
and then, came Unique Cooks!
In 2023, mom urged me to start a blog and record our experiences and kitchen experiments.
It took a few days to set up things, and Unique Cooks was finally live with a few simple American recipes.
While their roots lie in Indian cooking, Shahida and Enozia continue to get inspired by modern day cooking practices, Italian and Mexican cuisine, and the earthy flavors of Middle Eastern food.
Shahida is the heart and soul of Unique Cooks, and if you go back to discover some of the older recipes, you’ll be able to trace the path back to where she began- as a simple food photographer who was just getting the hang of using a camera, to now, with stunning photos and mastering the macro lens.
Everything that you see here and drool over, she’s whipped up in the kitchen and captured.
Enozia used her experience in content creation and the industry to handle the back end and the nitty gritty details of managing a blog. She always had a way with words, and this time, she was able to use it to her fullest potential with Unique Cooks.

Maybe you discovered a spicy Mexican mango Tajin snack on your feed that you wanted to try out, or maybe there was a hearty lamb curry you were craving for, Unique Cooks is the place to find that perfect, easy recipe that you can recreate in your kitchen.
All our recipes are super simple, and don't need any fancy kitchen equipment to make. You may need to pick up some spice mixes or ingredients occasionally, but if you are more inclined towards scratch-made, there's a spicy Peri Peri seasoning mix, a Mexican Tajin spice blend and even a homemade garlic bread seasoning mix to batch-make over the weekend and store for months.
If you’re all about bulk-buying produce that’s in season, you may want to check out our pickled foods recipes too. You’ll find everything from spicy pickled carrots and crunchy pickled onions to pickled hard boiled eggs and spiced preserved figs.
If Asian takeaway is what you’re craving for, indulge in a honey Sriracha shrimp rice bowl or a comforting Thai hot and sour soup.

The name Unique Cooks reflects our excitement about experimenting with unique and interesting global recipes.
Unique Cooks was created to help you get a taste of what food is like around the world. If you’ve always wanted to try a certain cuisine which you’ve never tried before, we'll help you pick the right recipe to dip your toes in!
Most of our recipes are made using pantry staples, but you might occasionally need to buy some spices or herbs from a farmer’s market or a supermarket.
Yes! Our vegan cashew alfredo sauce and carrot bacon have been huge hits, and we also have a lot of other adaptable recipes you can try if you’re vegan.
