What's So Great About the Recipe?
- It comes together in just a few minutes, and is one of the simplest, easiest appetizers you could make when you're hosting a crowd- just like my cottage cheese ranch dip.
- It's incredible versatile and customizable. You can try lots of different variations of this dip by playing around with the fresh herbs and seasonings that you’re using.
Recipe Ingredients

Goat cheese: You’ll need to start with some good quality goat cheese as the base. Choose a soft goat cheese or chèvre - not a harder variant.
Cream cheese: Cream cheese, when added to the dip, lends it a nice bit of tanginess and that luxurious creaminess. I would recommend using full fat cream cheese, but you can also opt for the low fat version if you want to.
Honey: A little honey just adds an extra layer of sweetness and flavor to the whipped goat cheese dip. Use spiced orange honey to bring a bit of bright, citrusy deliciousness to the cheese.
Pecans: Pecans add a nice crunch factor. You can also use spiced roasted cashews or roasted walnuts if you want to.
Thyme: Fresh thyme really adds a nice bit of subtle flavor to the whipped cheese.
Sea salt: You’ll also want to add a pinch of salt, ideally sea salt or kosher salt to enhance the flavors of the whipped cheese. I like to use my herb infused salt here sometimes.

Substitutions & Variations
- Not too sure about using sweet honey? You can use hot honey instead! I love using habanero hot honey for a kick of heat.
- Don’t want to use honey at all? A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and some savory spices and herbs can do the trick.
- If you have an inclination towards savory spreads and dips, you can consider topping the whipped cheese with fresh or dried herbs like thyme, rosemary, dill, chives and oregano, basil, mint and sprinkle some seasonings of your choice.
- Fresh cracked black pepper, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes and roasted garlic are all great choices.
- You can also top the goat cheese with some tomato garlic confit if you want to. Plain or marinated olives can also be a great topping over your creamy goat cheese mixture.
- I also love the idea of adding some sundried tomatoes or crunchy shallots as a topping to this cheese dip.
How to Make Whipped Goat Cheese

Combine the goat cheese with cream cheese and half of the honey in a bowl of a food processor and blend for 5-7 minutes on low speed until smooth.

Transfer the whipped cheese to a serving bowl, ideally a shallow bowl, and garnish with a drizzle of honey, chopped pecans, thyme and salt.
💭Top Tip
To add some more tanginess to the goat cheese mixture, you can add some lemon juice and lemon zest into it too.

Tips & Tricks to Nail the Recipe
- If you’re using your food processor to whip the cheese, you’ll need to keep scraping down the sides to ensure everything is blended well together. I always do this when I make my lemon white bean dip too.
- If you don’t want to use a food processor, you can also use a hand mixer or a standup mixer.
- Make sure you get both the goat cheese and the cream cheese out at room temperature for an hour to let them soften before you blend them together. This will ensure that the dip has a smooth and creamy texture.
How to Use Whipped Goat Cheese
This easy and delicious whipped goat cheese can be an easy entertaining or game day snack or appetizer that you can prep in advance. I would recommend teaming it up with some crusty bread, toast, fresh veggie sticks and crackers.
In fact, you can also use it to whip up a goat cheese crostini which can be an incredible party appetizer- much like my Bruschetta dip. Your leftover whipped cheese can also be a stunning addition to your holiday charcuterie boards or cheese platters alongside crunchy dippers like tofu chips or butternut squash chips.
If you’re a cheese lover, you can actually put together a nice cheese board, include this unique take on goat cheese and make your holiday meal extra special. The honey whipped goat cheese works wonderfully with candied or pickled figs too!

Troubleshooting & FAQs
If you don’t have cream cheese, you can use some heavy cream, thick Greek yogurt and/or sour cream in addition to the goat cheese. This will ensure that the whipped cheese has the perfect soft texture you’re looking for.
The whipped goat cheese can stay fresh for up to 4 days in an airtight container in the fridge. Make sure to leave it out of the refrigerator for at least half an hourbefore you serve it.
