What's So Great About the Recipe?
My favorite part about this recipe isn’t just checking out all the hype about the pink latte trend, but is also about how yummy it actually tastes. Yes, beet is good for you as well, so that's an additional plus.
Recipe Ingredients
You’ll need just 4 simple ingredients to make this beetroot latte.

Beetroot powder: Beetroot powder is the key ingredient for this recipe- also one that adds that vibrant pink color. Beetroot powder is made by freeze drying concentrated beet juice, and you should be able to find it at most food specialty stores near you.
Milk: I used full fat milk as the base, but if you’re looking to make a vegan latte, you can use any plant-based milk of your choice.
Sweetener: To sweeten the latte drink, you can use maple syrup or honey. Sometimes, I use my homemade date sugar or date syrup to sweeten it.
Cinnamon: I also added a pinch of cinnamon powder to the mix to lend the latte an earthy aroma.
See recipe card for quantities.
Enjoy the cardamom powder which is aromatic with an intense, slightly sweet-and-spicy flavor that works great with potatoes, beans, meat dishes, curry, bread, tea, coffee, and more!
Substitutions & Variations
- Plant based milk like unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk and oat milk are good choices. I love using my homemade almond milk to make this!
- If you don’t have cinnamon powder, you could also use a dash of cardamom or nutmeg instead.
- I tried this beetroot latte recipe without any caffeine, but if you want to, you could also add a shot of espresso into the latte ingredients.

💭Top Tip
When handling beet juice or beet latte, be careful, as the fun pink color can actually stain your clothes.

How to Store Leftover Pink Beet Latte
If you have some of the pink drink leftover, you can refrigerate it for up to a day. I would highly recommend making and enjoying this drink fresh though, for best results.
Tips & Tricks to Nail the Recipe
- The beautiful pink color of this energizing pink latte is actually all thanks to the beet powder. If you’re unable to find it, you can roast some fresh beets, puree them and use a bit of the beet juice as the base to get that pink color.
- To make an iced version of this superfood pink latte, just combine the beet with the sweetener and the spices, and then add in the cold milk.
- Remember that when you’re making an iced pink latte, you’ll first need to mix just a teeny bit of the beet mixture with some hot milk before you add in the cold milk. Doing this will keep the mixture from getting grainy.
- You can also try adding other warming spices like ground black pepper or ginger powder too.
- Remember that if you’re using honey as the sweetener, you’ll need to add it in towards the end, right when you want to serve.

How to Serve Pink Latte
This healthy beet latte, with its bright pink color, is an amazing dairy-free and healthy drink to make and enjoy with the entire family on a chilly winter night.
You can also top it with some dried lavender buds (like I did) to make it more soothing and relaxing. To enjoy this during the warmer months of the year, you can try out the iced version of the pink beet latte recipe, and skip adding the warming spices I used.
Recipe FAQs
No! Your pink latte is naturally caffeine-free, and yet, packs in a powerful healthy punch that helps boost your energy levels, improve collagen production and more.
While the other spices can balance out the natural sweetness of the beet, you can also add a dash of vanilla extract to help neutralize the flavor and aroma of the beetroot powder when you make a pink latte.
