I've recently been trying a lot of recipes with Mexican ingredients and flavors. The tangy, spicy and salty deliciousness of Mexican cuisine has me hooked, and I made a huge batch of Tajin nuts and roasted Tajin nuts and seeds over the weekend, to enjoy as an on-the-go snack.
I've also tried making spicy mango with Tajin, apples with Tajin and Chamoy and cucumber and Tajin salad as a light and refreshing snack during the hot summer months, and inspired by the combination of a fresh fruit with these Mexican condiments, I decided to try another recipe.

Recipe Ingredients
Strawberries: Pick fresh, ripe strawberries, ideally ones that are medium or big in size.
Tajin seasoning: Also known as chili lime seasoning, this one's a popular Mexican spice mix that can jazz up almost anything you sprinkle it on. Got a few extra minutes? You can make homemade Tajin seasoning and store it for weeks.
Chamoy: Chamoy is a tangy and spicy paste that's used in Mexican cuisine. I tried making homemade Chamoy sometime back and it turned out incredible, so that's what I've used for this recipe. You can totally use the packaged, store-bought version too!

Substitutions & Variations
- If you can't find Chamoy sauce and don't have the time to make it, just swap it for any tangy and spicy hot sauce of your choice.
- Try using different fruits like pineapples, kiwi, watermelon and mango to dip into the sauce and enjoy a nice Mexican mixed fruit snack, or keep it simple with a single fruit like I did with my watermelon Tajin salad.

How to Store the Tajin and Chamoy Strawberries
Store your leftover Chamoy coated strawberries in the refrigerator for up to a day. I wouldn't recommend storing it beyond that point, as the strawberries can lose their texture and become soggy and limp.

Tips & Tricks to Nail the Recipe
- Remember to wash the strawberries thoroughly before you use them for this recipe. If you want, you can soak them in a mixture of vinegar and water for a few minutes to remove any dirt from their surface.
- Also remember to pat dry the strawberries before you dip them in the Chamoy sauce, or it'll all just turn into one big watery mess.
- You can also use skewer sticks or toothpicks to serve the strawberries. I tried to do exactly that, as you can see, but the strawberries just kept sliding out. You can try freezing them first, and then dipping and threading them in the toothpicks- I think that should work well.
- If you have some leftover strawberries, you can give them a quick blitz in your food processor along with some fresh cilantro, onions, jalapenos and lime or lemon juice and turn them into a strawberry salsa.

I would recommend teaming them up with some other snacks and appetizers like Air Fryer Tajin chickpeas or Tajin nuts if you're looking for something protein rich, or some spicy jalapeno poppers and some garlic butter baked brie.
