Ingredients For the Everything Bagel Seasoning Recipe
You’ll need just 6 ingredients to make this homemade everything seasoning.
Sesame seeds: I used a mix of white sesame seeds and black sesame seeds for the recipe.
Black poppy seeds: Black poppy seeds may not exactly be a pantry staple, but I would highly recommend getting your hands on them and adding them in too- it really makes a difference.
Garlic granules: Garlic granules have a much more pronounced flavor (and don’t forget the texture) as opposed to garlic powder. Use it for best results.
Onion flakes: Dried onion flakes are another beautiful flavor-packed ingredient that you wouldn’t want to miss out on.
Coarse sea salt: Coarse sea salt lends a beautiful deliciousness to this spice blend. You can use table salt if you can’t find this.

I love topping it on my hard-boiled eggs or avocado toast to take them to the next level. One of my favorite ways to use it is to sprinkle it over my shirred eggs or on my simple chickpea salad.

FAQs
Simply toast the sesame seeds for a few minutes in a pan over medium heat, while constantly stirring until they become aromatic. Then, take them off heat, allow them to cool down completely and then use them for the recipe.
While you can make the seasoning without dry roasting the seeds, I would highly recommend taking those few extra minutes to do it. This extra step really elevates the flavor of the seasoning, and it tastes so much better than the store-bought version.
