Sweet, spicy and tangy, this kiwi apple salsa comes together in just 10 minutes, and is the easiest side you'll make this summer.
Fresh fruits get chopped into chunks and teamed up with a simple mix of ingredients to make this refreshing salsa that's perfect for potlucks and BBQs. Pair it with some crunchy tortilla chips or use it as a topping over your Tajin shrimp tacos instead of a classic Pico de Gallo.

I have to admit- I'm slightly obsessed with fresh fruits, and love using them for recipes every chance I get. So of course, summer is my favorite time- with all the juicy fruits in season.
I've used fresh pineapples to make my favorite strawberry pineapple salsa and jalapeno pineapple salsa, and juicy mangoes got transformed into my mango Pico de Gallo. This time, I had some fresh kiwis and apples that I wanted to use up, and a quick salsa seemed like the best idea.

What's So Great About the Recipe?
- It's light, refreshing and incredibly easy to make! Just 10 minutes, some fresh fruits and a few pantry staples is all you need.
- It's incredibly versatile- just like my cucumber Pico de Gallo. Pair it with some tortilla chips or serve it with some grilled chicken or fish.
Recipe Ingredients

Fruits: I used a mix of kiwi, apples and a banana here. You can try using other fruits too if you want to.
Red onion: For that savory depth. You can also use white onion if you want to- I did when I made my Air Fryer roasted salsa.
Jalapeno: For the heat! Use as many as you want to. I used one and it turned out perfect.
Brown sugar: To balance the heat. Feel free to skip this if you want the salsa to be spicy.
Lime juice: For a bit of tanginess. Use lemon juice or apple cider vinegar if you don't have lime juice at hand. I like using my hot pepper vinegar or strawberry vinegar sometimes.
Cilantro + mint: Fresh herbs, for zesty deliciousness.

Substitutions & Variations
- To lend an extra kick of heat to the salsa, add a pinch of cayenne or Tajin seasoning and give it a quick mix.
- Experiment with different veggies and fruits to add to the salsa. You can try using fresh strawberries, mango, cranberries, pineapple, tomatoes, bell peppers, green onions and even cucumbers.
- You can also use honey to sweeten the salsa if you want to. I like to use my jalapeno honey or habanero hot honey instead to make it a bit more spicy.

💭Top Tip
If you're adding other fruits and veggies to the salsa, you may need to adjust the seasonings accordingly. Taste and adjust as you go!

Tips & Tricks to Nail the Recipe
- You can also try using different seasonal fruits like oranges (I made an incredible orange Pico de Gallo recently), stone fruit, tangerine, cantaloupe, plum and even apricots (inspired by my apricot salsa).
- Chop the onions and fruits into chunks that are roughly the same size. I like to keep them small- like I did when I made my pineapple Pico de Gallo, but you can also keep them chunky and big if that's what you prefer.
- I used the apples with the peel on here. You can choose to peel them if you want to.
- For extra flavor, use an infused salt like jalapeno salt or citrus infused salt to season the kiwi apple salsa. I did this when I made my raspberry salsa too!
How to Serve Kiwi Apple Salsa
Enjoy this refreshing kiwi apple salsa as a snack or an appetizer with crispy tortilla chips or nachos. I love teaming it up with my avocado Pico de Gallo and Mexican caviar, especially when I'm hosting a party or a get-together. I like to serve this with some grilled or pan roasted chicken.
Sometimes, I also like to spoon this over my Huevos Rancheros, and even use it as a topping when I'm making my Mexican baked potatoes.

Troubleshooting and FAQs
Store your leftover kiwi apple salsa in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Keep in mind that the fruits will start to lose water with time.
You can chop the fruits and assemble the brown sugar-lime juice mixture in separate containers and store them in the refrigerator until you're ready to put the salsa together.
I would recommend using fresh fruit to make this salsa. Frozen fruit turns turn watery as it comes to room temperature.
